TAMPA – The success of the South Florida Bulls is one of the major stories of the season in college basketball as they have won 17 out of their last 18 games and have chalked up the ‘W” to highlight 11 wins in a row which is the longest winning streak in program history.
Coach Amir Abdur-Rahim has led the team to a 19-5 record, 12-1 in the AAC, and has added prime talent around holdovers Selton Miguel, Sam Hines, and Corey Walker, Jr., who were members of the team last season. Abdur-Rahim has been able to bring in players who fit with these three players and it has created a system based on connectivity in transition basketball and then helping each other on the defensive end.
Sunday, the Bulls jumped out to a 22-12 lead midway through the first half as Chris Youngblood hit three early triples. Due to the play of Miguel, who scored 25 points, the Bulls topped their largest lead at 70-45 with 8:22 remaining.
